Getting MP3 from YouTube

This is one way to copy some mp3 files. It is important to note that some files are copy protected and should not be copied and others are ok, finding that out is your job!

Youtube has lots of video files and many have useful audio enbedded in them, music or speech.

(I am sure there are ways to do the folowing with Internet Explorer or other web browsers and with other software and other web sites. This is just how I do it).

If you use the Firefox web browser there is a plugin for it called Video Download Helper that will install itself into the Firefox toolbar and easily copy non-protected Youtube videos.

A free program Flv audio extractor will alllow you to quickly extract mp3 files from these saved Youtube videos...

There are links on these linked pages to explain the rather complicated way these programs work and work together, good luck. When it is all set up properly the process is quick and easy. It only takes a few mnutes from begining to end and the mp3 files are on your player it is sort of amazing.
