Fireworks layers

Layers is Macromedia (now Adobe) Fireworks works exactly as it does in Photoshop. We will begin with two photos. One is called Amicalola_falls_66.jpg, the other is charlie_bluescreen.jpg

 

In this case we do things a bit differently which will also work in Photoshop. We select the blue screen and then invert the selection. We use the magic wand again as shown below..

That way we get charlie and the tv weather set to paste with no blue screen. We reverse the selection called in Fireworks inverse...

We copy and then paste the selection into the photo of the water falls and then...

Charlie is visiting the Falls in his weather mans suit. The blue halo around Charlie can be removed but I did not take the time here.

Once again, that is all there is to it. The layer names are layer 1 and background, same as in Photoshop.
