Always have a hard drive failure? I. Here is my story:

I placed my late 2009 MacBook Pro Apple to sleep late on a Saturday night. As late at night I have not had the time or the patience to let my computer completely off and have little light in a short time ago, indicating that he was asleep. I jumped the gun and turned my computer on the right side is the hard drive is still running. Some NO, NO, according to Apple. You need to stop the hard drive and wait for the light to vibrate.

The next morning I woke up, ready to enter the new page that I developed for my dive photography business. My Macbook Pro awoke without incident and I thought everything was ok. Adobe Lightroom and do not save a file, I worked. He said he needed a place to store the files I was working. I said, “You moron have a place, it means the hard drive.” I restarted as I do, when things is not working well and what I saw next to him was buried in my memory. FILE terrible flash and the question mark. This means talking to Apple, something is wrong. I was later told Apple “genius” to me it was my hard drive. He wanted over $ 200 with taxes for the repair and yet I would not be able to recover my data without having to send my computer into a data recovery service. NO WAY!

So I did it myself and have all my data for less than $ 100. Here’s how:

1st Order a hard drive to replace Newegg or Amazon. I had a Seagate 500GB 2.5 SATA 7200 rpm, so I replaced it with the same drive.

2nd Order a sled. A sled is essentially a hard drive enclosure that you can create your own external hard drive. Amazon is a great place for them.

3rd You also need a set of small screwdrivers, Phillips # 00 and a Torx T6. These documents are available in sets from Amazon, Best Buy, etc. are available

4th Set your MacBook Pro on a desktop anti-static, and make sure something metal before touching any component of your computer. This will discharge static electricity.

5th Turn your head and remove all the screws firmly, that they all go.

6th The hard drive is located on the lower right side when the laptop is facing you. Screw the bracket in black on the top of the drive.

7th Pull the cord on the right side of the drive carefully.

8th Remove the four screws that secure the drive and with whom to place on one side.

9th Unpack your new drive and screw the 4 screws on the new hard drive.

10th Attach the cable to a new hard drive.

11th If the holder.

12th Put lid on your MacBook Pro and replacing the screws.

13th Turn on your computer and press the power button.

14th Insert the installation CD for Mac OS. Hold down the power until the computer is turned off, press to go back on while holding down the C key on your keyboard.

15th You get the setup screen for OS X. Disk Utility on the menu and select the new hard drive. Select Delete and create as many partitions as you want. I use one. Name of the new Macintosh HD partition.

16th You now have a formatted floppy disk. Back to the main menu and follow the instructions to install OS X on the new hard drive. You can install a backup copy of the Time Machine at this time.

17th Once the OS has been reinstalled, plug your old sled in your hard drive and plug the USB cable to your computer. If it rises and will appear in your Finder, you have a good chance to restore some or all of your information. Just drag your files from your hard disk on your old messages.

Unfortunately, the industry standard for formatting not only external hard drives, but internal HDDs and high (I’ll explain later why) Note USB NTFS (New Technology File System). This must be the case today, because it is a size limit that Windows can not handle that formatting in FAT32 (File Allocation Table 32). The border, the windows can be circumvented if the format a FAT32 drive is 32 GB and you will hardly an external hard drive is smaller than in the shops in those days. Of course you can always smaller than most flash drives that come with FAT32 standard, but in reality you are not using a USB stick to games or television programs due to their limited store size.

It is in the external hard drive that the problem really is. If you plug your new drive to open your laptop or PC, Computer and right click to see its properties. I can almost guarantee you he will say to the NTFS file system. This is fine if it used as a backup device to your PC, but not if you connect game consoles or satellite receiver with PVR functionality.

You must be the drive to FAT32. If you only try to format it under Windows, right-click method / format, but it is missing and if you do it from the command prompt, it’s even worse because it takes hours and still no way.

Save yourself the time and effort and only a site like download dot com and search for a small program like CompuApps Swiss Knife. Once downloaded and installed. Follow the instructions below. Make sure you save everything you do from the drive to before this.

Open CompuApps Swiss Knife and click on USB host adapter. It is quite obvious that the host adapter is good because the details of changes on the right side of the screen correspond tom external hard disk that you loaded into the PC. Then click on the partition and quick format. Select the desired drive and click Remove. This will completely erase your hard disk and leave it raw. It only takes a few seconds and after that you would like you to select all options properly. You want to make the kind of primary partition for a walk, the type of formatting the hard drive and format of the file system is FAT32. Do not drive an active partition and change the volume labe what you want is the name of the player. Finally, click Create. It is very fast and once completyed, your external hard drive will now be formatted in FAT32.

The increase in diversity increased external hard drives. But with the growth of consumption is a problem again. The manufacturer of gaming consoles like the Xbox and PS3, and even satellite receiver with integrated media player and PVR facilities are not taken into account the limited size of the file system on hard drives. With solid drives on the market and the inability to actually buy something less than a 160 GB hard drive at the time of writing, there was a big problem for home users and you’ll find more online research to see how to resolve this problem. I hope this article helps those who read it.

Why does Windows 7 is not with some external drives?

Windows 7 has updates third-party manufacturers have not used their products, making the system with products that lead to errors.Incompatibility creates problems with the files and settings for the equipment needed to function properly. The system must support USB 2.0 has made sure that the computer to work with newer versions and the latest drivers and software. The solution of problems through the steps recommended below.

Windows 7 how to work with external drives

Check whether the device compatible with Windows 7 by the official Microsoft site and search for devices used in the list. If not there, then it is probably a part of the former players who no longer work on Windows 7th The updated drivers for the device to the manufacturer’s website and download from there. Next, configure the camera and make sure it is USB 2.0 enabled. If you have this problem, first restart the PC. Then, open, press F2 during POST and BIOS setup. Select Advanced on the menu. Select USB Settings and choose the option USB High-Speed. Save the configuration displayed by pressing F10 and then cancel the message New Hardware, if it occurs during the boot process normally. Then, to update Windows. It may be possible that errors may have an external hard drive is because your version of Windows 7 is not updated. Questions like these can be avoided and you can ensure that devices work fine, just getting the latest updates. To do this, click Start, then All Programs> Windows Update. A set of instructions on how to get the correct update for Windows 7 is not provided. Restart the computer after you.

To complete the process, run a registry cleaner. The best option Software Registry Cleaner Registry Cleaner is the front line. It can be automatically deleted the problems and possible errors from the registry.

Today it is a synonym for speed and durability especially in the area of technology. If it grows by the data storage, the total amount of data at a rapid pace, especially when working with large files such as graphics files, uncompressed video and audio files, and desktop publishing.

With such a massive increase in data size, the demand for portable hard drives with the top speed is more present than ever. There are many brands on the market and each offers several models with different specifications. There are external hard drives or even with a capacity of 2 TB was considered a very large volume at a given time.

The new devices are coming with FireWire interfaces for fast and reliable data transmission. For optimum flexibility and mobility are hard drives with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, the same connection which, you can add any modern computer that does not connect via a FireWire interface connected.

add all this portable hard drives in a slim design, the design of your PC or Mac will come. These discs have Sync application to synchronize files between disks and the computer, and some of them have abilities that encryption provides access to a pre-defined encrypted partition.

All modern hard drives are pre-formatted (for Windows), so you use just a few seconds after connecting to your computer. These discs are ideal for office and home. Some applications:

In the Office:

* The best storage solution for official documents such as large graphics files, administrative archives etc.
* These discs are ideal for audiovisual professionals to store and edit large uncompressed video and music files
* Synchronize your files between office network and the reader, you can always download the latest version of your files available
* Use make this external drive for quick software installations on multiple machines

At home:

* Store all your personal photos, music video collection in one place
* Make a backup of your PC / Mac files on your home network
* Make a disk image of an OS reinstall and recover in the event of failure of the hard drive of your computer

Those who work with digital media still require the ability to store and move large amounts of data. It seems incredible, but for every minute made a video, it is not unreasonable to handle a full hour of raw materials. It is not surprising that portable hard drives are just part of life for many professionals today.

Data management involves the storage and transport capability of software and databases for archiving, offsite protection of backup sets and data transmission via a common carrier or courier from one device to another. Stress and possible damage from misuse, abuse or neglect, a mandated requirement for shock tolerant, caused robust and reliable alternatives to the solid state to the magnetic or optical storage media options.

The continuous improvement of production and manufacture of semiconductor devices has proven to be a boon for the computer industry and communications, leading to gain a profit for both providers and users. Great choice and strong competition have offset this technology at prices you plenty of relatively narrow bandwidths of the high-volume distribution.

MicroSD memory card

The triumph of modern computer technology and mobile communication devices has created the need for portable data storage, functional, efficient and cost effective. Several hardware solutions have been developed to meet these requirements, while meeting the need for independence of the platform. Today, a microSD memory card directly from a cell phone, PDA, notebook, laptop or desktop computer set with ease in accounting. In many cases, inexpensive adapters are readily available to compensate for different form factors or to accommodate an older technology.Usually comes with a SanDisk microSD full-size SD adapter included replace at no additional cost, which eliminates the need for cost savings, an otherwise satisfactory computer or similar device because of advances in memory.

SSD

Solid State Drive (SSD) are available in a variety of capacities, form factors and envelopes for internal or external accessories. For example, the current generation of SanDisk SSD for internal mounting using the standard SATA compatibility outlet or in an external USB hard drive, Firewire, or be placed on similar options configured. Typical applications include the replacement of magnetic disks, or used as a boot drive at high speed. They are as popular as the additional storage, typically configured as an external hard drive for easy transport and data transfer.

Data security is an integral part of the device – such as digital rights management (DRM) – or as part of a highly layered security that the latest digital encryption algorithms and implementations, contains such as AES, RSA, and others.

USB Memory

USB – commonly referred to as “USB” – are increasingly popular as portable media. They have almost everywhere: in the light of key chains, necklaces ID and even described as “special purpose knife” (removable) on the latest Swiss Army knife.

USB stick with USB interfaces are available in a variety of form factors. When used in conjunction with an appropriate adapter, virtually all data from the memory card can be forced, can serve as a memory stick.

There are no excuses for the disaster resulting from loss of data from accidental or incidental causes. to secure external hard drives, USB sticks and SD devices, data are available, accessible and affordable solutions for truly effective data management.
